The IRS Whistleblower Office pays awards to people who report tax underpayments or tax fraud. For cases where the amount in dispute exceeds $2 million, informants receive 15–30% of the amount collected. For smaller cases, the IRS may pay a discretionary award up to 15%. The program has paid more than $1.1 billion in awards since 2007. You can report anonymously but must provide enough information to be traceable.
