The SEC Whistleblower Program pays monetary awards to eligible individuals who voluntarily provide original information about a possible violation of the federal securities laws. Awards range from 10–30% of monetary sanctions collected when those sanctions exceed $1 million. The program has paid over $2 billion in awards to more than 400 individuals since 2012. Tips can be submitted anonymously through an attorney.
