Murder Victim Saint Stephens Church, Virginia August 16, 2016 — The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Richmond Field Office and the King and Queen County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for the death of James Edward “Scooter” Byrd, 24, of Newtown, Virginia. He was shot and killed when several people entered his home during the early morning hours of August 16, 2016. When deputies arrived at the house in rural Newtown, Virginia, Byrd was found to have been shot several times and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
